EVENT / Learn how to practice the ancient art of meditation and apply Buddhist teachings to our daily life in this online class.
Seeking happiness can be a confusing and complicated process, because we tend to seek it in external things like possessions, friends, and status. And even when our wishes are fulfilled, they often come along with unwanted side-effects. The truth is that nothing external can give us happiness – it has to be cultivated in our hearts.
One of the main functions of Buddha’s teachings is to show us how to cultivate true happiness in our hearts. In this series we will explore four simple attitudes that we can develop and practice in order to experience peace and happiness in our hearts.
This series of classes runs through October. You can attend the whole series or just drop in to individual classes.
Each class begins with a guided meditation, followed by a talk on a certain topic, and ends with another guided meditation. Everyone welcome! No experience needed. While the meditations offered are Buddhist, they generally appeal to anyone wanting to cultivate a deeper state of peace and authentic happiness.
This is a live streaming online class, taught from Menlha Kadampa Buddhist Center in Lambertville, New Jersey.
